A good belly band

I got this band in hopes of shrinking my tummy after my third child. The sizing seems a bit difficult to me. I was a size 12 pants prior to pregnancy gained 24 lbs and had lost all 24 in the first week. I bought a size Medium and it fits perfectly. It does work to help shrink your belly but I had problems with it folding over and scrunching up in the middle. It does not wear well under clothes as you can see where the band over laps and velcros. Best Sleep Bra for Nursing Moms

The Medela Sleep Bra is by far the most comfortable sleep bra I have purchased and I have purchased many. Unfortunately it is difficult to know what will work best for you without trying every nursing bra out there.



The back is in an easy to wear racerback style with no clasps to mess with or lay on uncomfortably at night when you are trying to sleep. You just pull it over your head to put it on. The cups are draw back style so when you are up in the middle of the night to nurse your little one you don't have to fuss with clasps.



As some reviewers have mentioned the fabric is thin but I like that feature of this bra. It is 95% cotton with 5% spandex for that stretch we all need at times. You can put nursing pads in the cups but I find them uncomfortable so I prefer to go without. If I get a little leakage during the night it dries fairly quickly.



The sizing is on the small side so if you are on a border size I would order up. I'm a 38B and purchased the Medium at first. This one seemed too small. I exchanged for a Large and I'm much happier. In fact I would say it is perfect. The manufacturers sizing chart isn't currently available on this page so I'll list it here.

These bands save $$ on buying transitional pants

These are a must-have for anyone looking to save money on maternity clothes. I work at a school and wear dress pants or khakis each day and didn't want to buy a whole new wardrobe. I wear all my pants completely unbuttoned and unzipped and nobody can tell because the bands hide my skin and hold my pants up. I wear mine almost every day - under sweaters collared shirts etc. I was a size 6-8 pre-preg and the size 2 bands fit well. Just be aware that the bands are very long and you will have to fold them over at first. This isn't a problem unless you wear tighter shirts that show the fold line above your navel.



Follow-up: I wore these belly bands during my pregnancy from months 3-6: while my old clothes were too small and maternity wear was too big. Now that the baby is here and I'm preparing to return to work I'm once again turning to these bands. I've got a little pooch that prevents my pre-preg pants from buttoning and will be using these until I can work off the baby weight. I never had to purchase transitional clothes.More detail ...

Worth Every Penny!

I received shrinkx as a gift at one of my baby showers. I was VERY skeptical about their claims of "shrinking" your hips back down to their pre-pregnancy size or even smaller. I measured my hips before getting pregnant and then right before I had the baby and my hips had expanded 3 inches! I started wearing shrinkx 1 week after giving birth and 3 weeks later I was back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. Does it's job. Buy Maternity pants!

Belly belt does exactly what is says it does- it keeps the front of your pants (dress or denim) from coming open. The problems are: 1) the corners of the pants still stick up so if your shirt is the least bit form fitting (which it almost certainly is because you're wearing non-pregnant clothes which are starting to be a wee small) then you can see the corners through the shirt. One woman at work must have told me my pants were unzipped about six times before I showed her the belly belt and said I KNOW they're unzipped! 2) The belly band (even the small one) is too big very early on. My pants started being too tight at 8 weeks but I didn't need the corners two inches apart. 3) I stuffed the panel onto one of the little ones (you're not supposed to use a panel with the small ones) because my dress pants wouldn't stay and weren't comfortable half zipped. Besides as an eye doctor I'm always raising my arms so unless I wear a mumu the shirt would reveal part of the unzipped pants.



Bottom line maternity pants are way better. The belly belt does hold your pants closed so if the pants are tight enough around your butt and thighs to stay up mostly by themselves you're fine. Just don't expect it to look perfect or to be nearly as smooth or comfortable as maternity pants!More detail ...

Excellent Product!!!!

I didn't it purchase this item my hospital gave it to me to use immediately after giving birth. They said it would help support my c-section incision and it did. The extra perk was that it also aided in my stomach returning back to my pre-pregnancy size. Since I wasn't breastfeeding I knew it would take some extra effort to get rid of the fat stomach.



What you can expect - Discomfort yes for the first week it will be tight. But if you want to return to your pre-pregnancy stomach size you'll have to endure it. And it won't be all the time discomfort just probably when you first put it on and sometimes while sitting down. It's minimal discomfort but just wanted you to know that you shouldn't expect it to feel like you have nothing on.



During the night - I would take it off. I would also feel pains and I know that it comes from my stomach muscles contracting back to their original size. No pain no gain. Take some aleve or some tylenol for this. It's not extremely bad just wanted you know just in case you woke up during the middle of the night with any soreness. Your body has to contract back to it's normal size.



During the day - I would eat what I wanted but several "small" portions. This increased my metabolism. Also drink 6-8 glasses of water per day...the water will reduce the swelling and fluid your body has while in the hospital (on I.V's). Also this will help your muscles contract they need water to do it.



I hope this review has helped someone. Just wanted you to know what to expect don't expect it to be a walk in the park and remember: It hurts to be beautiful..no pain no gain.. I'm on my second week from being home after the C-section and my stomach has immediately began going down. After another week (two weeks total) I expect to be down almost to my pre-pregnancy waist size. It's working wonders :)

A nursing bra that feels like a real bra!

I have 3 of these nursing bras and absolutely love them! It is next to impossible to find a nursing bra in a 32G let alone one that offers plenty of support has a flattering shape and prevents nipple show-through--even with fitted shirts! After ordering and returning countless others I was so thankful to finally find this one even if it is a bit on the spendy side. The padded flaps are a little awkward at first because they don't fold completely out of the way so I probably wouldn't recommend this as a first nursing bra but once your size stabilizes and you and your little one become nursing pros it is worth the investment. Expensive but worth it for me

This bra is expensive but it was the first bra that really worked for me after trying a Medela a Bravado and 2 different department store nursing bras. FINALLY a bra that my nipples don't show through a bra that is comfortable supportive doesn't bind and has lasted for several months and still fits great/looks great even though I wear it almost constantly and wash it every 3 days or so.

As far as the reviewer who recommended the Gap bra just FYI the GAP company has been caught using child labor to manufacture their clothing not once but TWICE the second time the children were even being abused with oily rags being stuffed in their mouths when they cried. I personally don't want to give any of my money to that company. Bella Materna bras are manufactured in the united states so it goes to reason their costs will be a little higher. Great support wide size range

This is one of the few bras I have found that comes in a 30 band. The support is excellent for large cup sizes too (I have the 30G). The cups do not stretch so no sagging throughout the day. great for post baby

I wanted an alternative to the belly bandit. After reading the reviews for that product I was concerned with several factors. 1. it was uncomfortable. 2. it was too long for short women.



I'm only 5'2 so I needed something that I would not have to fold. The Cinch is a perfect fit. It is also very comfortable. It has velcro all the way around and it does not stay bended (which was a complaint of the Bandit)



I have two complains. One: it has a zipper which is a bit tricky. especially postpartum.



Secondly it doesn't come w/ directions. I didn't realize I could make it bigger. So I waited several days after my baby was born to fit in it. But the size is adjustable and you only have to buy one item. Instead of two which was a comment on the other product. Overall i'm quite happy with this product it has helped me regain my figure and improve my posture.More detail ...
